I am honored to be included in City & State’s inaugural “Who’s Who in Political Consulting & Communications” along with distinguished colleagues from across the state. It is especially meaningful for me to be recognized now as we begin to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Arcos Communications, the public relations and marketing communications agency I founded two years after serving in the Dinkins Administration in NYC.
While my business journey has provided opportunities to represent clients across various business sectors, health care has been a constant focus, and it remains central to our agency’s purpose. I am proud of what we have been able to accomplish in the area of health policy over the last three decades – from supporting funding and development of early HIV and AIDS treatment and service programs, to shaping advocacy efforts for essential benefits coverage under the Affordable Care Act, and coalescing diverse and multi-sectoral leaders to advance health equity across our nation – to reference a few of our campaign initiatives.
We are committed to making a difference. This year, on behalf of our clients, we will bring attention to the persistent HIV and AIDS inequities affecting Latine and African American communities 40 years since the CDC first reported these disparities, and we will continue to lean in on advancing health equity policy efforts. I have been inspired by so many brilliant health leaders and advocates since the beginning of this mission, and it is fulfilling to work alongside them. Thank you to all who have entrusted me and my teams to support your work.
