Paco de Lucia Legacy Festival

The year started with the Arcos team working alongside the Spanish Womack agency to promote the Paco de Lucia Legacy festival in New York City through active public relations and marketing activities. The festival brought together over 30 of flamenco’s elite names upon the 10th anniversary of the passing of the master flamenco guitarist. New York was the center of the flamenco galaxy for a week of performances, February 20-24, on the stages of prominent spaces such as Carnegie Hall, Town Hall, the Symphony Space, Instituto Cervantes, and Le Poisson Rouge, closing with a festive and spontaneous night at Jose Andres’ Little Spain Market.

Among the stars featured in this historic program were the dancers Karime Amaya, Farru and Farruquito (pictured above), the guitars of Al Di Meola, Josemi Carmona, Yerai Cortés, Antonio Rey, Rafael Riqueni, Niño Josele, José María Bandera and Pepe Habichuela, the voices of Rubén Blades, Diego ‘El Cigala’, Duquende, Chonchi Heredia, Carmen Linares, José Mercé, Sílvia Pérez Cruz and Makarines, the basses of Carles Benavent and Alain Pérez along with the double bass of Javier Colina, the percussions of Rubem Dantas, Tino Di Geraldo and Israel Suárez ‘Piranha’, the kora by Madou Diabaté, the piano by Chano Domínguez, the flute by Jorge Pardo, the voice and cello by Nesrine Belmokh and Antonio Serrano on harmonica.

Thank you to the Paco de Lucía Legacy Festival for the opportunity to work on this historic event. It was a testament to the enduring legacy of the musical genius and an unparalleled celebration of the art of flamenco.
